板 桥 路

梁 苑 城 西 二 十 里
一 渠 春 水 柳 千 条。

若 为 此 路 今 重 过
十 五 年 前 旧 板 桥。

曾 共 玉 颜 桥 上 别
不 知 消 息 到 今 朝。

Ban Qiao Lu

Liang yuan cheng xi er shi li
Yi qu chun shui liu qian tiao.                                                                                                Ruo wei ci lu jin chong guo
Shi wu nian qian jiu ban qiao.                                                                                          Ceng gong yu yan qiao shang bie
Bu zhi xiao xi dao jin zhao.

Bridges and Highways of Ban

Early Han orchard six miles west of the city wall
Springtime river with one canal, one thousand willow tree twigs.

Today pass by again the old landmarks from the past
Fifteen years ago at these Ban bridges.                                                                  Shared this one bridge when departing from her jade-like face
Not aware of any news about her as today’s dawn arrives.

Ban bridges:  Probably refers to a battle site in 208 AD during the Eastern Han Dynasty.
